The Financial District will be a main visual focus of Eko Atlantic, developing into the pinnacle of the city’s ambitious plans to create sustainable growth and economic progress. This platinum district occupies a prime location lying north-west of the Eko Atlantic development area. Most importantly, the design of the Financial District will be skilfully wrapped around a vital ring road that will become a major gateway to the new city. A circular architectural design layout creates a unique cluster of buildings – a rotunda – to maximize the primary use of this area as a dynamic centre for financial and business activity. It will also be a place where the owners and tenants of luxury apartments, or hotel guests, can enjoy panoramic views of Eko Atlantic, Victoria Island and the Atlantic Ocean. The multi-storey towers of the Financial District will reach for the sky, like jewels in a crown, where banks and corporate entities in the oil and gas industries, as well as world-renowned legal and accounting firms, insurance companies and stockbrokers will make their home. The heart of the rotunda features an imposing central structure, large enough to house a convention centre. It will be complete with meeting rooms, banqueting halls and offices as well as enough floor space to accommodate a stock exchange. Pedestrian walkways lined with restaurants, cafes and bars will be designed especially to cater exclusively for the Financial District.
