The exclusive
Harbour Lights district lies between two dominant
features in Eko Atlantic: Point Lagos at the south western tip
of the city and the towering Financial District to the north.
Like the skyscraper district of New York’s Manhattan Island, the
skyline will dominate this sector of the Eko Atlantic cityscape
when seen from a future road bridge that will cross over the
harbour entrance and link to the city of Lagos itself.
A careful blend of commercial and residential enterprises will
shape the character of this high-end waterfront area that looks
across the wide entrance to Lagos Harbour and the Atlantic
Ocean.
Harbour Lights will conform to an international flavour of
architectural design to emphasize the energy of life and
commerce that will evolve here. Other buildings further back
from the water will be constructed over a multi-storey car park
that spans the development area. Where these buildings have a
street façade, the ground level should contain reception rooms,
shops, offices and restaurants overlooking the street.
Well-appointed roads and an abundance of off-street parking are
standard throughout Eko Atlantic. Four-lane vehicular access
with additional service routes ensures ease of movement
throughout Harbour Lights, and the unsurpassed transport services
include nearby tram and ferry networks.
A modern ferry transfer terminal, where passengers will change
from regional river craft to public transport, lies to the
north of this exclusive district which also
benefits from a nearby marina, one of three in Eko Atlantic. |
