Downtown |

Downtown is encircled by four districts of the city: Ocean
Front, Harbour Lights, Financial District and Avenues.
Typically it will become a densely built-up sector with varying
sizes of buildings set in tree-lined streets with shops leading
to elegant squares.
A large number of garage parking spaces will be constructed,
three levels high, with a continuous façade along the streets
and higher buildings on top.

The first two levels
adjacent to the street will have a
commercial use and offer covered protection from the sun. The
shaded, bustling walkways will transform this part of Eko
Atlantic into an attractive destination for shopping, dining and
entertainment.
Downtown also provides opportunities to develop land for
residential use,
offering an envious style of city life within easy access of the
Financial District.
The Eko Waterway surrounds Downtown on three sides, offering
alternative waterborne transport to the Eko Tramway, Eko taxis
and private cars. A marina at the western end of Downtown will
appeal to boat owners.
The management of off-street parking is crucial to the free
flow of traffic throughout all sectors of the new city. Downtown
is no exception. Residents and visitors will have ample space
for vehicles to park off-street.
In common with other districts, the first two levels of parking
closest to the street will incorporate shops, cafes, bars and
restaurants.
The location of the Downtown development area ensures it will
grow into a popular neighbourhood of Eko Atlantic. |
